The ICF Wildwater Committee has awarded the 2007 Junior Wildwater World Championships to the
United States. The race is tenatively set for July 8-14, 2007. The Wildwater Classic Race
will be held on the Saluda River in Columbia, South Carolina. The race will be approximately
15-20 minutes in length down class 2 to class 4 whitewater. The Wildwater Sprint Race will be
held in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the newly opened Charlotte Whitewater Center
(class 4 whitewater).
The local organizers have limited space but are willing to provide free lodging for
federations who will send their athletes to attend this event. They are also willing to
provide shuttle service for training at both races and provide a boat (Wavehopper).
An eligible junior must be 15 to 18 years old.
