Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:
The warm weather has finally arrived in central West Virginia (where I live). It has been nice to see the leaves coming out and the flowers blooming. Unfortunately, we are going through a dry spell right now and out paddling choices are limited. I hope that you are going to be at the 37th Annual Southeastern US Whitewater Championships this weekend. It will be interesting to see if anyone can relieve John Pinyerd of some of his personal money. Check out the first article below for more information. The Wildwater Nationals and Western Junior Team Trials, which will be hosted by the 57th annual FIBArk Whitewater Festival, will be held in mid_June on the Arkansas River near Salida, Colorado. The Western Junior Team Trials will determine which juniors will be included on the US team (some of the team positions were filled at the Eastern Junior Team Trials earlier this year). See the articles below for more details. There are many other races on the USA Wildwater calendar. You can find the latest copy of the calendar at www.USAWildwater.com/races/2005RaceSchedule.pdf.
