Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

The 2009 USA Wildwater National/International Mega-Festival is only one month away.

Don't miss the FIBArk Whitewater Festival - June 16 through 21 in Salida, Colorado. We have combined the USA National Wildwater Championships and Team Trials into one event in the setting of the FIBArk Whitewater Festival which includes the historic FIBArk 26 mile Downriver Race. All races are deemed as "International Events" by the ICF. If that's not enough, we have added a head to head FIBArk Open Wildwater Sprint and a Wildwater Training Camp. This is a must attend event if you are remotely involved in Wildwater or Downriver. You won't see another opportunity like this in your lifetime.

The Western Junior Wildwater Team Trials took place the weekend of April 25th and 26th at Glenwood Canyon in western Colorado. You will find a summary of the event in the second article.

I have also started a Wildwater calendar for 2010. It currenlty only includes the 2010 Wildwater World Championships. Check it out by going to www.usawildwater.com and clicking on "2010 Calendar" in the drop down list below "Calendar". While you are there, check out the links for more information about the 2010 Wildwater World Championships.

The 2009 Calendar has also been updated to indicate the events for which I have received results that are included in the current 2009 Wildwater rankings. You can also view the current rankings by clicking on the link near the bottom of the right column on www.usawildwater.com. (Note: the rankings currently do not include the results from the Western Junior Team Trials. That will be remedied as soon as I receive the results.)
