Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

Since mid-February, we have had 3 major wildwater events in the U.S - the NRC Glacier Breaker (February 27-28), WKC Cedar River Races (March 13) and the U.S. Open/USACK Wildwater Senior and Eastern Junior Team Trials (March 27-28). News and results for all of these events can be found in the first 3 articles. We also have some great photos from the Team Trials (thanks to Adam Mills Elliott). Thanks to Maurizio Tognacci for representing the USA at the Enza International races. Links to the complete results from Enza can be found in the related article.

All Junior athletes also need to know about the Durango High School Whitewater Downriver Race this Saturday (April 17th) and the Western US Junior Team Trials the following Saturday (April 24th) in the Glenwood Springs area. More about these events can be found in the related articles.

Our Senior Wildwater Team is looking forward to the 2010 Wildwater World Championships in Sort, Spain on June 7-13. I included a link to the first bulletin where you can learn more about the Worlds.

The Wildwater Committee met at the team trials. We discussed a lot of things and we made some important decisions that will affect all wildwater athletes. One of the most important decisions was to have the 2010 National Championships also serve as 2011 team trials! The National Championships (and 2011 Senior Team Trials) will be on July 31st and August 1st in the North Cascades National Park Complex in beautiful Washington State. Be sure to be there!!

One of the goals of the Wildwater Committee is to have more training camps to encourage new participation in our sport and to help our athletes improve their performance. Chris Norbury has been busy scheduling training camps and races on the North Branch of the Potomac River for later this spring and summer. See Chris' article "Bloomington Training Camps - North Branch of the Potomac" and his subsequent article "Wildwater Team Training Camp - November 4-7, 2010" for the details.

Finally, check usawildwater.com and our calendar at http://www.usawildwater.com/races/2010_Calendar.pdf for the latest news about wildwater training camps and races in the U.S. and around the world.
